These calls allegedly originate from people such as carriers: Telephony Services Limited or their sister company Gradwell.
It is what is known as an “overlay service” which usually shows as local number, in this case from Aldershot, but it could be coming from anywhere in the UK .
It may also be a premium number so please do not ring back! You can check if it a Premium Number here.
These people cause a lot of distress and elderly who rely on their phones for contact but can become confused with these offers. They often ring back in good faith at the Premium Rate! If you are in any doubt please DO NOT RING back but refer them to TPS service or OFCOM. Also please report offenders.

Thank you for your complaint regarding recorded messages. Registration with The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) will help reduce receipt of live unsolicited direct marketing calls but will not stop pre- recorded calls.
Organisations that use recorded phone message to try and sell or promote their products or services have to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. These say that marketers who leave recorded phone messages must obtain prior consent from the subscriber before they can make such a call.
Where a subscriber receives a recorded phone message they haven’t agreed to there may have been a breach of the regulations. If you are receiving recorded messages and have not given prior permission, you can complain directly to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), who are the body responsible for enforcing the above regulation.
